With a permanent collection counting 3,000 Cycladic, Ancient Greek and Ancient Cypriot artifacts, the Museum of Cycladic Art covers the birth of Greek art in the protohistoric Aegean. Its iconic minimalist marble figurines, dating from 3000–2000 BC, inspired many 20th-century artists, such as Picasso, Brancusi, Modigliani, Giacometti, Hepworth and Moore, with their simplicity and purity of form. Centrally located in Athens, the museum’s Cycladic Café offers a spectacular indoor garden inspired by bright Greek light and the island aura of the Cyclades.
